Discovery Continues To Remains Open To Provide Care For “Essential Service Providers”
Since March 30th Discovery has opened our doors to provide care for Essential Service Providers”. Now we are more certain that we will be open for an extended period under the current arrangements.
A couple of weeks ago we invited our parents to self-declare as “Essential Service Providers”. If you have not yet contacted the Centre ( dcc@discoverycc.com ) with your information, it will be important to do so before April 8, 2020, as we have a limited number of spaces available. If you are a front-line health-care or other emergency service worker we also recommend that you apply for a child-care space by filling out a request form at https://forms.gov.mb.ca/GoMCovid19ESW/ .
As of April 13, 2020, enrollment at Discovery will be confirmed. After that time Discovery cannot guarantee care even if you have self-declared as an Essential Service Provider”. Parents who are unable to make other child care arrangements will be able to check which facilities have available spaces at www.manitoba.ca/covid19 .
If you are uncertain whether or not your employment is deemed “Essential”, the list of critical services, as authorized under the Public Health Act is available at:
