At our June Staff Meeting, Mr. Blatz, Mrs. Freeman and Mrs. Gordon shared some of their experiences and reflections from their professional development journey to New Zealand. Staff enjoyed seeing photos of the different centres in New Zealand, hearing about cultural differences, unique practices and equipment and reflecting on how

9 wonderful volunteers from the RBC Customer Service Centre in Winnipeg (and a few of their family members) came together on Saturday to donate 3 hours of their time to Discovery.  They shoveled, planted, and shoveled some more, until we all had just had enough :-).  We want to extend

At Discovery we continue to take efforts to break the Canadian Child Care pattern of spending 95% of the time indoors and only 5% of the time outdoors.  There are many benefits for children that motivate us to take these efforts and the attached Canadian document does a good job

As of May 30th (Tuesday) we will be vacating the parking lot east of the Preschool wing of our building.  The window installers will be using the parking lot for their work vehicles for about 6 days so we have asked all of our staff in parking spots #1 – #15

Last year on a Friday afternoon in July, two young ladies from China showed up at Discovery Centres front door.  I was about to leave for the airport to pick up some relatives and so I had only 30 minutes to inquire about their visit and show them our Centre.

As a part of a multiple step process, Discovery Centre is discontinuing cash payments in the Flex room as of the end of May.  All cash payments after that time will need to be made in the office during regular office hours (Mon- Fri  8:30am –  5:00pm). Our next

Remember that our clocks “spring” forward by one hour on Saturday night.  Now the challenge will to get your kids out of bed an hour early on Monday.  This was never the most favourite time of year when my wife and I had young children at home.  All the best

Family Fun Day will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 (5:00pm-7:30pm). We have scheduled an alternate rain date for June 29, 2017. This year we will once again be holding a Silent Auction and will begin collecting donations. We have prepared a letter that families can use
