Celebrate Week of ECE With Discovery
April 29 to May 4, has been proclaimed as Early Childhood Educator Week (Week of the ECE). ECE week is a great opportunity for us to show our appreciation to the dedicated staff who care for our children each day.
In the past Discovery’s Board has planned a week of treats and activities for the staff. We would like to continue this tradition with help from Discovery families. The Board has several ideas to celebrate the amazing staff.
New to this year’s ECE week, the Board will introduce a Wall of Gratitude, where we encourage all our families to take part and share their thanks to our ECE’s. Starting on the Monday (April 29th) you will find the large paper banner “wall” with some sticky notes and markers, (located opposite the parent bulletin board, in the main entrance). Grab a marker and a note and leave your thanks and/or special memories. We hope everyone takes a few moments to share their messages and by the end of the week we have a large colourful banner that our ECEs can take in.
Also new to Week of ECE, we have created an online sign up for Staff Appreciation Snacks. If you would like to bring snacks for your child’s teachers, and you are not sure what to bring or how much to bring, you can now use this link to sign up. Please be sure to sign up no later than Friday, April 26th.
