Closures For Staff Professional Development

Discovery’s Closure Day policy states, the Centre will close one day per year during which time the staff will be involved in a training workshop. This year, Discovery will be closed all day (for all programs) on Friday, October 20, 2023.  In addition, this year Discovery’s Board, following the lead of many other Centres, has agreed to close our programs in the early afternoons, four times per year so that the staff can engage in staff meetings and professional development without incurring the need for overtime pay.  Discovery’s Board has approved closure for purpose of Staff Professional Development as follows:

Friday, October 20, 2023 ALL Day for ALL programs

Friday, December 1, 2023 at 1:00

Friday, February 9, 2024  at 1:00

Friday April 5, 2024 at 1:00

Friday June 7, 2024 at 1:00

(Please note, the early closure hours (at 1:00) do not affect the Flex Program)

Please write these dates on your calendar. A reminder will be sent out to parents a week before each date.
