Renovations at Discovery to begin February 5, 2024

Starting tomorrow, Friday, February 2, we will be preparing the building for our next big renovation.  We will begin the project by replacing the flooring and wall panels in the north end of the building (Infant and Preschool). These products contain a low-grade asbestos, I want to ensure that you are all aware that the removal will be completed safely and by a certified contractor. They assure me that there is no concern for anyone in the building during time of construction, as all the necessary precautions and regulatory safety guidelines will be employed.

Much of the work will be completed during the evening hours, however some work will take place during the day. Since we must move everything out of the hallways to install the new product, lockers will be moved into the classrooms for a few days until the new flooring and walls have been installed.

The second phase of this project will be to replace the flooring in the hallway and entrances of the south wing of the building (school age). During construction the lockers will be moved into the gym.

The final stage of the project will be replacement of flooring in four (4) of our classrooms; both of Flex classrooms, PS1 and Christian preschool.

We do not anticipate that entrances/exits will be affected during this project. The estimated time line for completion is 3-4 weeks.
